Common Auto Accident Injuries

The most common injures from an auto accident happen from rear end collisions.  Impacts of even five mph can have a serious impact on your neck and spine.  You may have only been bumped at five mph, but remember your head may have whipped back over the back of your head rest.  This fulcrum point can cause that five mph to be greatly accelerated.

This whiplash motion can lead to ligament damage, disc damage, and misalignments in the spine.  For some patients this pain is noticeable right away, but for many they don’t experience symptoms for weeks.  Left untreated, the problems caused from a whiplash injury can become very severe.

Chiropractic for Auto Injuries

It’s very common for whiplash injury patients to be sent home from the emergency room having been told they are ok or with pain medication.  The majority of emergency room doctors do not specialize in this type of injury, and they may overlook problems because of a lack of immediate symptoms.
